David Albert Brackna

Kim Studio is deeply saddened to announce the loss of long-time black belt and friend Dave Brackna. Dave was an important part of Kim Studio from the very beginning. He began training under Grandmaster Ki Whang Kim in 1964 and ultimately advanced to become an 8th degree black belt under Grandmaster James K. Roberts, Jr. He will be remembered for his dedication to the martial arts, his character, and his friendship.
David Albert Brackna, 70, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on May 21, 2018 at his home with his family by his side. He was the husband of Marian (Mary Ann) Brackna.
He was the son of the late Albert and Eleanor Brackna. In addition to his wife of 42 years, he is survived by his two sisters, Susan Mintz and husband Harold and Judith Robilotta; two brothers, Brian Brackna and Paul Brackna and wife Christina of; his sister-in-law, Mary Jo Papin and husband Gregory, and brothers-in-law, John (Butch) Schaech and wife Elice and Stephen Schaech and wife Dawn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey Paul Brackna whom died in infancy.
The family will receive friends from 1-3pm and 6-8pm on Monday, May 28, 2018 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Tuesday, May 29th at Saint Joseph-on-Carrollton Manor Catholic Church, 5843 Manor Woods Road, Frederick, MD 21703. Entombment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery Mausoleum in Frederick.
